What is a uterine polyp?
A polyp is a tissue that has overgrown in endometrium of the uterus. Small polyps do not interfere with the reproductive competences of a female but if the polyps are large in size then they may cause infertility issues or increase the chances of miscarriage.
Polyps are prone to bleeding and a uterine polyp that develops near the fallopian tubes may hinder the opening of the tubes, possibly leading to difficulty with becoming pregnant. In rare cases, polyps can be cancerous.
